Maintenance Mechanic/Working Foreman
The Housing Authority of the City of Fitzgerald, Georgia is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Maintenance Mechanic/Working Foreman.  This position involves the performance of semi-routine and diversified duties in connection with repairs to and maintenance of 221 units and grounds requiring many skills found at the journeyman level such as carpentry for woodwork repairs, plumbing repairs, electrical work, painting work, and supervising a small number of co-workers.  Preference will be given to applicants that are certified in HVAC work. The duties include the supervision of maintenance personnel schedules, work assignments, timely vacancy turnarounds and inspections of work by staff and contractors. Education and Experience requirements include graduation from high school or GED equivalent, two or more years’ proven experience in a journeyman level craftsman in one or more of the building trades or equivalent, and have a working knowledge of the other trades. Must have a valid class C or better driver’s license and have a driver record with no major violations.  Starting salary is determined by the level of expertise and qualifications. Successful applicant will have to successfully complete a drug screening test, a criminal background check, a driver’s history check, and a credit check review
Applications may be picked up at the Fitzgerald Housing Authority located at 314 S. Sherman Street; Fitzgerald, GA between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday thru Thursday.  Application along with resume must be submitted to the Housing Authority in person or received by mail by 2:00 p.m. EST on April 25th.
