  • Movie under the Stars — Bring blankets to sit on and refreshments to enjoy at 8:30 p.m. Friday at High Falls State Park near Jackson, where a family film will be screened outdoors.

  • Senior Catfish Roundup — Seniors 60 and older can pull channel catfish out the stocked pond at Cloudland Canyon State Park near Rising Fawn Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. Anglers should bring their own rods, reels and bait. When the fishing ends, catfish will be cooked around a campfire.

  • GATOR — Learn and explore the features of an alligator in this 5 p.m. presentation Saturday at Gordonia-Altamaha State Park near Reidsville.

  • Confederate Encampment — Watch weaponry, drilling and marching demonstrations, then learn about uniforms, tents and equipment from the Civil War era Saturday and Sunday at Hart State Park near Hartwell. The encampment will end at noon on Sunday.

  • Wildlife Watch — A park ranger will lead this 2.5-mile hike Saturday round the non-game trail at High Falls State Park near Jackson for an afternoon of wildlife watching. Hikers should bring binoculars and cameras.

  • Road Bike Ride — This 23-mile ride Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m., will highlight the Arabia Mountain Path at Panola Mountain State Park near Stockbridge. To pre-register (required), call (770) 389-7801.

  • Astronomy Night — View the night sky Saturday, beginning at 9 p.m., at Providence Canyon State Park near Lumpkin.

  • Scavenger Hunt — Let the kids discover the diversity of plants and animals at 2 p.m. Sunday in the scavenger hunt at Gordonia-Altamaha State Park near Reidsville.
