NEWS GUIDELINES
We want to hear when and where your next club meeting will be. Let us know afterward who spoke and share what you heard. Tell us when a revival or other special event will be held at your church. Let us know where your child or spouse is serving in the military and when he or she receives a medal or honor.
If your child receives dean's list or other recognition, we'd like to hear about that, too.
We also welcome business news. If you open a new business or expand an existing one or receive a promotion, share it with us and our readers. Sometimes the good news in life can be hard to find and we might miss it without your help.
Our news deadline is Friday noon. Bring your information to the newspaper office at 202 E. Central Ave. or mail it to P.O. Box 40, Fitzgerald, Ga. 31750.
Above all, if you see news in the making, call The Herald-Leader at 423-9331 so we can get on the story. You can also send your news tips or stories to us by e-mail.

SOCIETY DEADLINES
Friday noon is the deadline for submitting all social news for the following week's issue. Please include a daytime phone number on all submissions in case we have any questions.
The deadline for submitting wedding-related social items is three weeks after the date of the event. Wedding write-ups, showers and parties received at the newspaper office within 21 days of the event will be published at no charge. A $25 late fee will be charged on all items submitted any time after the three-week deadline.
There is a 1,000 word limit for wedding write-ups. Please make sure your write-up does not exceed this limit. The Herald-Leader reserves the right to edit all information.

Our readers' opinions, expressed in letters to the editor, are always welcome at The Herald-Leader. CLASSIFIEDS
Non-commercial, one-item classified ads up to 25 words, are free to residents of Ben Hill or adjoining counties and are scheduled to run for up to 6 weeks or until stopped by the advertiser. Words over 25, per ad, are 15 cents each per week, paid in advance. There is a limit of three free ads per family. Place ads by calling calling 423-9331 weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. or by calling 423-5250 in the evenings or on the weekends and leaving your ad on the answering machine.
A convenient clip-out form is also published in the classified pages in C-section each week. You may fill it out and mail it to The Herald-Leader, P.O. Box 40, Fitzgerald, Ga. 31750, or drop it by our office at 202 E. Central Ave.
The deadline to place or cancel an ad is 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to publication. The Herald-Leader shall not be liable for errors or omissions in, or failure to insert, any advertisement beyond the cost of the actual space or free rerun in the next issue and reserves the right to edit, reject, cancel or delay any advertisement.
